Berg Named to All-Tournament Team

Jamie Berg has been named to the All-Tournament team for his play during the MSHSL state baseball tournament!  The junior had a great tournament for the Zephyrs, recording multiple doubles, great base running, and excellent defensive play out in center field. Berg will be back for the Zephyrs next year to complete his final year

Where Are They Now? – Michael Baumann and Sean Hjelle

Mahtomedi graduates Michael Baumann and Sean Hjelle have had fantastic years at the next level this season.  Baumann, a pitcher for Jacksonville University, was selected in the third round of the MLB draft on Tuesday!  He was selected by the Baltimore Orioles. The Zephyrs won a tightly contested game, 5-2, on Saturday afternoon to advance to the Section 4AAA finals!  The Zephyrs got a great game on the mound out of Jack Schwietz and some timely defensive plays and hitting to get the job done. Softball Advances to Section Finals, Baseball Rallies

The softball team needed two wins last night and they got them!  They defeated St. Paul Como Park, 11-0, in game one to advance to play St. Anthony Village High School.  They edged out the Huskies, 7-4, and advanced to the Section 4AAA Championship Round!  The girls will play the Eagles of Totino-Grace on Thursday

Baseball Begins and Softball Continues Playoffs

Today the baseball team will begin their playoff season while the softball team will continue their playoff run.  The baseball team will host St. Paul Harding this afternoon at Mahtomedi High School.  Their game will begin at 4:30. The softball team will continue their run in the Section 4AAA playoffs at Lexington Memorial Park tonight.
